Making a resolution that sticks
A year ago this month, I set out to launch a similar blog with some of my personal musings (or ramblings, as they would most likely become). It was my New Year's resolution — one of many I've made and rarely seen through to the end of that particular year.
But this year I'm trying something different. Rather than setting out a specific goal like that lofty prospect or others — losing weight, cutting out my carbonated kryptonite (Dr Pepper) or going to the gym, to name a few — I'm presenting myself with a challenge in the way I approach each day.
My theme for this year is summed up in one word: balance. In 2017, I'd become imbalanced in my day-to-day routine. I want this year to be different, allowing me to do more of the things I most enjoy doing but pushed aside: writing, painting, drawing, reading, etc.
So, here's to the start of a new writing project, and to seeing where 2018 leads in the life of this Arkansawyer.
